We are Anchor Of Hope Church. These terms seem contradictory, don’t they? What’s hopeful about an anchor? Anchors are devices that keep your boat from moving. What’s hopeful about being stuck? Not much, it would seem. But our anchor isn’t that kind of anchor. Our anchor is one that holds you no matter what the situation may be. Our anchor keeps us from drifting and getting lost.

That’s what anchors do. Anchors are everywhere. Look around: Trees have anchors that we call "roots." Buildings have anchors called "foundations." Did you know that people need anchors -- anchors for their soul? If you are just drifting along on the Internet, going with the flow, maybe an anchor would be interesting to you. What would an anchor do for your soul? Let’s talk about the idea of an anchor.

For a sailor, an anchor is a welcome relief in a troublesome environment. Upon thousands of square miles of water there may be nothing solid and fixed until the captain drops the anchor. A spiritual anchor is truth, or reality, in a world full of change and doubt and uncertainty.

A fixed point of reference lets you know where you are. If you know where you are, you can find the way home. This is essential in everything, including spiritual life.

What is a spiritual anchor? A spiritual anchor is the strongest thing you have. It is the love of God. His love doesn’t drift with the tide or blow in the breeze. The love of God is solid, secure and stable. He wont divorce you. You can take life’s bearings from God’s love. You can find your way home because you are rested and secure in God’s anchor.

So, how did you get here? Surfing the web? Looking for Anchors? Looking for Hope? Curious about new web sites? Well, you’ve come to the right place. WE HAVE ANCHORS. WE HAVE HOPE. And we’re in the business of giving away the love of God that will fill you with hope. It is my prayer that "the God of hope will fill you with joy and peace as you trust in Him, and that you will overflow with hope by the power of God’s Spirit in your life." {Romans 15:13 NIV}
