When you're checking out Anchor of Hope Church for the first time, you can expect:
Anchor of Hope Church is a center for personal spiritual development and growth, and a visitor-friendly environment where each person is welcomed.
Let's suppose that after checking out our web site you decide to visit. Most likely your first contact is the morning worship service. You may have little or no experience with church worship. Or you may be very familiar with Christian worship. In either case you will feel comfortable at Anchor of Hope Church.
A typical morning goes like this: You arrive about 10:15am. You find your way through the building. Some visitors find the coffee and tea and make a new friend or two before worship begins. People with children are interested in our clean, attended nursery. They settle their children in the nursery. Other children will be in worship -- the parents decide. A "cry room" is available for fussy babies and nursing moms.
Younger children may play outside with their friends. You may sit quietly in the auditorium, or sanctuary, and wait for worship to begin. You may seat yourself anywhere you find comfortable. Or a greeter will help you find a seat if you prefer. By about 10:25am most people have found a seat in the sanctuary.
A bulletin with weekly news and schedule information is provided for everyone.
At 10:30am you will be welcomed and worship begins. Typically, worship begins with a mix of contemporary and traditional worship songs led by a small worship band. You will notice that the congregation is led in prayer for the needs and events taking place in the lives of the congregation. The worship team will lead the congregation in another set of contemporary and familiar songs.
Each week a vital subject based on a Bible passage is presented to the congregation in the morning message known as a sermon. Topics vary a great deal from week to week, but you will find this list fairly typical:
You can be assured that our themes are always based on the Bible and always are consistent with the historic Christian faith.
